K.J. Diliip

K.J.Diliip has had the good fortune of having been born in a musical family. His initial training was from his father Shri. K.J.Shyamasharma and grandfather Shri. K.J.Krishna Bhat, who is an accomplished vocalist and violinist. He further underwent advance training under violin meastro Padmabhushan Sangeetha Kalanidhi M.S.Gopalakrishnan.

 

Diliip has also been playing Violin Duet concerts and also Vocal-Violin duet with his wife Vid. Ila Diliip and has been appreciated as the 1st Indian couple to play Carnatic Violin Duet concerts and a unique couple to perform Vocal-Violin duet concerts. 

 

Performances :

 

Diliip gives duet performances with Ila Diliip and has performed with various senior artists in the field of Carnatic music.

 

He performs across India and has also made a mark abroad, in countries like Canada, UAE, U.S.A, France (in Paris, for the event - 'The European Night of Museum' at Musee Guimet), Switzerland, Nigeria, Srilanka and Australia. He has given a LEC-DEM at various places like the Berklee College of Music, Boston, Museeguimet , Paris, Switzerland and so on. 

 

He is a much sought after musician in the cinema industry and has worked with many music directors. One of his recent instrumental hits from the movie Monsoon Raga has crossed 3 million views.

 

Pudhupoonal program in Podhigai has recognised him as an exceptional talent at the age of 18 & interviewed followed by a solo concert .

 

He is the founder of Lakkshya Band which is currently performing across India and has managed to carve a niche for themselves in a very short time. One of their works got featured in Rahman’s documentary 

Fresh from a tour in Europe with the band, he is filled with enthusiastic curiosity to create new expressions of music incorporating all the wonderful experiences and engaging with fellow artists across the venues at Europe.
